NUR 347 Medical Surgical Nursing II
This course builds upon the knowledge and skills mastered in previous nursing courses. Knowledge of the relationships among evidence, theory, quality, cost effectiveness and nursing care will continue to grow. Students are expected to collaborate with members of the healthcare team to plan and implement interventions and to evaluate patient responses to selected interventions in caring for adult and elderly patients. This course includes field experiences in the community and acute care facilities for advancing the conceptualization of the role of the nurse as leader, advocate, and direct caregiver in caring for adult patients across the lifespan. Four hours lecture and three hours clinical/simulation lab.
