MAT 112 Introductory College Math
This is a one-semester course designed to prepare students for college-level mathematics courses. The course looks at polynomial, rational functions, and radicals, with a focus on solving equations and simplifying expressions. This course carries institutional credit but does not fulfill the mathematics requirement in the General Education Core. Credit is not allowed in
MAT 112 after the student has earned a “C-” or better in
MAT 131,
MAT 141,
MAT 142,
MAT 241, or
MAT 242.
Prerequisite
A math ACT score of 17 or 18, an equivalent score on an appropriate placement test, or completion of a developmental mathematics course (transfer) with a grade of “C-” or better.
