REL 342 The Bible as Literature

This course will examine the Bible, both the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) and New Testament, as a significant work of literature that has had an immense impact on Western culture and beyond. Students will learn about the Bible as a literary artifact, the methods used to study it ("exergesis"), and the Bible's influence upon great works of literature and film.
