REL 202 Archaeology and the Biblical World

This course seeks to illuminate the historical background of the Bible. The first part of the course studies the foundational concepts of biblical archaeology and the impact of archaeology on the biblical text. The second part of the course examines the cultures, religions, and literature of the cultures surrounding ancient Israel, first-century Judaism, and the early Christian church.
