ENG 220 Introduction to English Studies
This course introduces students to literary theory and its applications, offers a framework for understanding the historical development of English studies, and introduces students to a range of approaches to the study of texts. Frequent writing about works studied will introduce students to the practice of critical argument. This course is appropriate for any student interested in the analysis of literature and is required for the major in English.
Prerequisite
ENG 101,
ENG 102/ENG 103, and at least one semester of Literature
