HS 416 National Security Law

This course surveys the framework of domestic laws—constitutional, statutory, and regulatory—that variously authorizes and constrains the U.S. government’s pursuit of national security policies, with an emphasis on developments in this area since 9/11. The major aim of this course is to investigate leading topics in national and homeland security law, blending a strong policy-oriented focus with a rich historical approach, combined with the application of basic legal reasoning.
